Saving over hundreds of patients at St. Agnes Hospital, these nurses are far from ordinary. Opening their doors in 1896 in Raleigh, North Carolina, where this was the only hospital for blacks from Atlanta to Washington, D.C. at the time.
"At one time, the hospital trained over 75% of east-coast black nurses," said Dr. Sills during the tour guide on Monday. Dr. Sills, a librarian at St. Augustine's University, took a group of students to the historical landmark to see how the hospital still stands. Sills began to talk about Sarah L. Hunter, who found the hospital and was the wife of the fourth president. After their families service to the university and the hospital, they were honored by having a building named after them.
"There were over 125 beds provided for the patients in the hospital," Sills said as he pointed to the windows, "this is also a wood-frame building and built by the male students and staff of the university." He later talk about the nurses training. "The nurses training included learning how to sew, scrubbing, cleaning and cooking." Sills then says there was "no running water" in the building so they had to constantly boil water. There were more than 800 interns and over 600 nurses received a diploma.
With all this information, I thank Mr. Sills for this experience and knowledge about this institution and hospital.

Mr. West isn't happy! Kanye West took the stage during his Saint Pablo show in Oakland, CA, on Oct. 22 to began a rant about his friend, Frank Ocean.
West threaten to boycott the 59th Grammy's if Ocean wasn't nominated for his two latest albums, "Blond" and "Endless". Although, West's request could be outweighed. According to Billboard, Ocean's label missed the Sept. 30 deadline, for reasons not made clear, for consideration despite both albums being released before the date.
"The album I listen to the most is Frank Ocean's album," West, 39, began. "I'll tell you this right now, if his album is not nominated in no categories, I'm not showing up to the Grammy's. As artist we've got to come together to fight the bullsh*t."
West also claims that the Recording Academy made exceptions for other artist, like Lady Gaga in 2010. "Gaga wasn't nominated for best artist, right? But they wanted her to perform at the show. So the Grammy's secretly changed something about the nominations in order to nominate her, in order for her to perform," West explains.
West then encouraged the head of the Grammy's to "come and holly at Ye."
The 2017 Grammy's nominations will be announced on December 8. The ceremony airs on CBS on February 12, 2017.

Interview with Aaron Thomas
A PR is not a easy job. A PR stands for Public Relations, which means to protect, enhance or build their reputations through the media. I decided to take this career path because I love fixing things that are broken or could build to be something way bigger than it already is. To get more information for this job, I went to my mentor, Aaron "Magic" Thomas, that works at our campus radio station, WAUG. Thomas was in his office full of old tapes of old events that has happened on campus the past years. Along with a couch and a blanket, just in case he gets tired. "Magic" was working on a project for the a WAUG poster.
Thomas first makes a joke saying, "Find where the money is" but soon after, corrects himself and says, "Networking is key and knowing your connections." Thomas then takes out his phone and shows me one of the females that went to school here and is now a promoter in Miami. "Her name is Vena and she'll be doing some hosting for our homecoming this week".
Magic also says "drive" is very important and you have to be "creative" to get through the door. "When people tells you no, figure out a way to make that a yes. There is always a way", stating Thomas after grabbing on his mouse to finish up some projects on his computer. By the time the end of the interview was over, Thomas says "you really just need to know how to talk to people and be a people person".
