Personal Experience Essay: Prom '15

It has been a year and a half since I went to prom my senior year of high school. Looking through pictures and realizing that that was my first time actually wearing make up, besides wearing make up for dance concerts, and only dressing up just for the cute pictures I will cherish for the rest of my life. Oh, and do not forget eating dinner at a restaurant that was $60 just for some chicken that my mom could have made at home. But let's start off from the beginning of this prom journey with my dress.

First off, let us begin with saying that I knew the dress I was dreaming of wearing was an Elie Saab dress that cost over, at least, $100,000 in his summer collection in 2015 but for some reason I thought I would have luck considering that my best friend had bought a dress that Blake Lively wore to Cannes in 2014. But boy was I wrong! I order the dress and they email me right after it and said "Sorry this item is not available. Contact this email for more information." Having my heart set on this dress for about two months now and they are just now saying it is not available was the worst thing that could happen... By the way did I say that prom was three weeks away??
After the fallout with my dress, I decided to go with the most simplest and sexiest color ever; black. I looked and looked and finally found my dress and it didn't cost as much as you would think it did. Everything was falling together; my dress was perfect, my hair was finally in so all I had to do was install it and get it down, plus I was getting my hotel room with my best friend on the same hotel and everything. Finally the day of prom comes and Chelsea and I went to American Tobacco in downtown Durham to take pictures.
Soon after, we went to a Mexican restaurant that just served appetizers or small dishes of food, we headed for the dance floor. After being there for thirty minutes, myself and my date was over the loud music and ignorant classmates I had. Before we could leave, my date, Gregory, got a phone call about our hotel room. Apparently, the room we booked at the same hotel room as Chelsea's was over booked and they apologized and gave us a free room at the Hilton Hotel down the street from that hotel. At first, I was really upset but I was like a free hotel room?? I am cool with that. After a long night of dancing and having fun, we went to Wendy's and slept the night away.

It wasn't a bad prom, it was more unexpected than anything else. And I loved every second of it.

This last flower picture is from my favorite because it grabs the flowers colors very well and the girl in this back looks like it's a moving picture.
When I didn't mean to make the picture look like this but the way it looks very exciting and almost looks like spider webs are around the flowers.
These pink flowers are all over campus and they make the campus look vibrant and lively. Especially around the buildings that look antique and vintage.
These flowers is from the dogwood tree, also known as "Cornus". You mostly see the flowers on white but they also come in pink.
This is a tree around the art building and I tried to just focus on just one flower than the other ones.

This is the courthouse in Durham County and I took this picture because it has a lot of memories from the summer of 2016.
This is a lake by Brier Creek and I applied a filter to make it look better. I call this "Moving Lakes".
"We stay fly no lie and you know this..." I call this "Ballin'."
This picture was taken in Durham, NC. It was around like 7 or 8ish and it's my favorite color. I call this, "Pink Matter".

This is Chelsea and I and we were getting ready for the State Fair of 2013. I call this, "Happyness".
